Especially too bad since HMV was perhaps the best classical CD store
around, certainly in the Greater Boston area. They were also holding
the line on Naxos CD prices, last I knew. Beyond a doubt they had the
best selection.
What's left? Tower, which is still alive in Boston but fading fast
around the country. Borders, but their selection could be better. (It
could also be much worse. Other stores don't even compare to any of
these as far as their classical selection is concerned.)
It's telling that so many CD stores have started to sell used CD's
alongside the new ones.
Of course, if there are no new CD's being sold, where are all the used
ones going to come from?
