What? Why? Is Huggett all that good? I have her Bach solo sonatas and
partitas, and while she does some "interesting" things, I wouldn't rave
about that set, or her playing, by any means. On the other hand, Mullova
has proven herself a competent performer in the hyper-competitive world
of "Un-HIP." While she might not be the greatest exponent of that field,
she's at the very least a decent player both technically and musically,
and the fact that her career has survived I think says a lot about her
abilities. Personally, I look forward to seeing what she does with her
HIP CD, if and when it comes out.
