OK - all those that would make a pilgrimage to see WW II temporary buildings, raise your hand!  Sorry Ron, not everything can, or should be, saved just because a few folks think they are of special significance.  The temporaries were nightmares to rehab and maintain, they were unusable spaces, could not be brought up to code, were full of asbestos and lead-based paint, and simply did not meet the needs of the modern DoD.  These buildings were constructed for a three to seven year life, they lasted way beyond that.  Now, that said, while the demolition without further consultation is ongoing and will not stop for the most part, the demolition cannot occur on buildings that are part of an historic district.  Also, (it is my understanding) the programmatic does not apply to orders of rehab, maintenance, or other continuing uses - consultation must still occur.
