Rob,
Ultrasonic cleaners DO work, you just have to give them some time (days,
not hours). I've found that the ammount of stuff you cram into them also
affects the legnth of time necessary to get things clean. Personally, I
think there's still no substitute for a lab tech with a toothbrush. I
usually only use ultrasonic cleaning only on fragile artifacts I'd be
afraid to clean manually.
