Dear Histarchers,

I will be chairing a session at the 2003 SHA conference on forensic
applications in archaeology. The session will be covering topics such as DNA
analysis of human remains as well as DNA analysis of inanimate objects
including pipe stems and syringes. At this point the discussant will be Doug
Scott with paper contributions by Doug Owsley (Smithsonian physical
anthropologist), Raymond Grimbso (Forensic Scientist), and myself who will be
discussing how to identify prospective artifacts for DNA testing, how to gather
samples, and interpret DNA results.

I am looking for 2 to 3 additional contributors who would like to present their
work using the mass spec or projects involving DNA recovery from human
remains. Papers related to other aspects of forensic applications and
archaeology are also welcome.

Please contact me off list at [log in to unmask]

Thank you.
