Unfortunately I was not able to find a specific use period for the
buttons, but here's some info.
Alphaeus H. Albert 1977Record of American Uniform and Historical
Buttons: Bicentennial Edition. p. 106 " NA138 Navy: 1-piece, hard
rubber, four-hole sew-thru. A. The device, and upright foul anchor, 13
five-pointed stars encircling, impressed. 1. "AHR Co HP" rm; 36mm.
(The number NA138 is Albert's indexing system, and he gives no dates of
use or information on the backmark.)
William F. McGuinn & Bruce S. Bazelon 2001 American Military Button
Makers and Dealers: Their Backmarks & Dates. (New Edition) p. 1
"Makers' Marks: "AHR Co / HP" (American Hard Rubber Co.) Dates
unknown but b/m is on post-CW NA-138A1."
Good luck,
Susan

Hi all
I recently excavated a circa 1900-1938 Navy cemetery near San
Francisco.
While the bodies were removed in 1938 (we were hired to verify this) we
did find casket hardware and clothing buttons. Any info on the
following either through Histarch or direct to me would be much
appreciated, or references to obtainable sources.
Nickle plated casket handles, with a maple or oak leaf pattern (some
very
fancy, some with only a few leaves). Back side is stamped
6120/X502/ISCO
Black, bakelite (?) or similar material, 4-hole sew-through buttons,
5/8"
diameter. One side has an anchor and the other is stamped AHRCO/HP
Thanks in advance for info.
