Oh, just another thought on the problem: the saturation of the bricks while buried may have caused irreparable damage that may come to light in exposure to air.  Be careful of effluorescence (salt leaching).  The bricks may become crumbly or disintegrate, some tell-tale signs are white crystallized stains.  You may just want to re-bury the original foundation and use some other means to represent the structure.  This is just a cautionary consideration, since I do not know the full extent of the project.
