Archaeology & Public Education
The Summer issue of Archaeology & Public Education, an electronic
newsletter of the Society for American Archaeology, Public Education
Committee, has now been posted. You can view it at
http://www.saa.org/PubEdu/a&pe/index.html .

This issue of A&PE includes information on summer events at archaeological
parks and archaeology centers; summer workshops for teachers in Arkansas,
California, Arizona, Ohio, Colorado and other states; field opportunities
in Alabama, Illinois, and New Hampshire; upcoming conferences; and a new
publication for teachers on classroom archaeology. State links for Illinois
and Virginia have also been added.

The deadline for the Fall issue of Archaeology & Public Education will be
August 16. The editor invites submissions from all readers.

Archaeological Parks
When planning your vacation this summer, consider visiting an
archaeological park as part of your adventures. You can get information on
the archaeological parks in the states you will visit on the
"Archaeological Parks in the U.S." web site at
http://www.uark.edu/misc/aras/ . Links have just been rechecked and updated
to bring you the most current information.
