With apologies, as always, for the nuisance of cross-postings...

Centuries ago, Native Americans deep inside a Kentucky cavern
inscribed dozens of symbols into the soft wet clay. After its
rediscovery in the 1980s, this precious and fragile legacy became
the target of vandals, despite the best efforts of the private
property owner. The inspiring effort to protect these mud glyphs
is the subject of the video, Saving a Kentucky Time Capsule, now
available for viewing on The Archaeology Channel, our
public-education streaming-media website
(www.archaeologychannel.org).

This video, the third in the Kentucky Archaeology series,
documents these ancient art works and the labor of dedicated
volunteers to construct a metal gate to protect them.
Archaeologists Valerie Haskins and Dan Davis lead viewers on an
unforgettable journey through Crump's Cave to see these rare
legacies from Kentucky's original inhabitants.

This and other programs are available on TAC for your use and
enjoyment. If you feel that this project is a worthy endeavor,
please participate in the Membership and Underwriting programs
described on our website at www.archaeologychannel.org. Only
with your help can we continue and enhance this nonprofit
public-education service. We also welcome new content partners
as we reach out to the world community.
