Minimum Qualifications:

* Master's Degree in architectural history, art history, or historic
preservation and 2 years of related work experience.

* Preference will be given to applicants who have full-time work experience
in architectural preservation, preservation planning, historic preservation,
cultural resources management, or a closely related field.

* Cover letter - detail how your experience level meets the preferences and
minimum qualifications listed above.

Applicants who are residents of ND and eligible to claim veteran's

Affairs Office.

Summary of Work:

Manage the North Dakota State Historic Preservation Officer's
responsibilities in the following program areas: National Register of
Historic Places, Architectural Survey, and Federal Tax Incentives as per the
National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended in 1993, and 36 CFR
60, 61, 63, 67, and 68. Perform as Executive Secretary of the North Dakota
Historic Preservation Review Board as per federal regulations and state
by-laws. Job duties include:

* Promote and process National Register and State Registry nomination

* Review submitted architectural site forms

* Participate in the review and compliance program with assessments to
National Register eligibility of architectural resources and providing
mitigation recommendations

* Provide assistance in compliance with the Secretary of the Interior's
Standards for Rehabilitation

* Review and process tax incentive applications

* Provide technical assistance to the public, staff, and preservation
partners regarding program areas

* Participate in annual planning

* Research and write nominations as often as possible
