Dear List, I purchased Dutton's remastering of some Campoli recordings,
including Tartini's "Devil's Trill" Sonata. I have a question about which
I am a bit embarrassed: what is on the record does not sound anything like
the "Devil's Trill" Sonata. I feel really stupid because two performances
of baroque works can sound different because they were arranged differently
or the person uses different cadenzas or ways of performing ornamentation.
But this sounds like an entirely different piece of music, and I wonder if
anyone can tell me why this is in this case. Is this labeled wrong? Thank
You,

David Bresch
