Dr. Snyderman is famous for her comment (in print) after the 1997 American
Academy of Pediatrics recommendation that all babies in the US be fed for a
minimum of one year. She said "I think breastfeeding is only worth the
hassle for six months."
On a brighter note, the September Reader's Digest has a little fluff piece
about the bittersweet feelings of sending a daughter off to college for the
first time. Describing her daughter's babyhood, she mentions sitting down
to nurse with her toddler at day care, reconnecting before going home.
