Over the past century, the aggregates used in blocks have changed
radically. The "breeze" or cinder was introduced about mid-century.
Of course there are regional differences, but I have used aggregate
content to define periods of construction within buildings. The
design of the blocks has evolved over the years; generally they have
become lighter, with fewer cavities and thinner walls. Someone needs
to do a typology.

For any awkward moment, in any conversation,
there is always an appropriate, or insanely
inappropriate, limerick.
