Dear List,
As part of my thesis work on the Carp River Forge in Negaunee, MI, I am
seeking technical reports on excavations and/or studies of American
bloomery sites. I am particularly interested in reports that discuss
site/building layout or construction, or that include metallurgical
analysis. I am aware of the theses produced on the Carp River Forge in
Negaunee, MI and Gordon Pollard's 1998 article "Experimentation in 19th
century bloomery iron production," as well as the numerous metallurgical
studies written of co-written by Robert Gordon. Any other works would be
of great interest. Also, please feel free to respond if you think that
any particular reports on non-American sites would be helpful.
Sincerely,
Tim Mancl
