Paul Silverthorne responds to my grousing about the growing "Planets":

Not only modern composers, I think even Mozart and M.Haydn, wrote music
to be included in works by others.  As far as I know, there exist even
supplements to the Carnival of the animals, e.g the crocodile.  I have
absolutely no objections to this practise, as long as it is done with
respect for the original.  And how about composers who finish other
composers unfinished works, Bartok's viola concerto, Elgar's 3rd symphony,
Mahler 10, Mozart's Requiem, let alone the numerous transcriptions and
instrumentations, do they also fall under the head adulteration!!?? I think
not.
