Margaret Mikulska writes of Nikolayeva'a Well Tempered Clavier:

She is on the heavy side in that body of works, but her Art of Fugue on
Hyperion is a much better proposition.

Agreed. Actually, I think both her Shostakovich Opus 87 sets are miles
ahead of the recorded competition including that from Ashkenazy and
Scherbakov.
