Try this trick - before you open the hive, move it to another position
in the apiary, and leave a box with a few frames in on the old site to
collect the flying bees. Then leave it a while before opening the hive.
The more agressive bees ought to be in the spare box, with any luck! You'll
have less bees to look through and less aggro too.
