I have in my CD collection 2 performances of Brahms' Violin Concerto
which are worthwhile to be mentioned: The 1957 performance with Yehudi
Menuhin/Berlin Philharmonic /Kempe, and a 1990 recording with Nigel
Kennedy/ London Phil/Tennstedt. I like very much Menuhin's performance,
but I cannot make up my mind about Kennedy's.Not being a trained musician,
but only an avid listener, I was unable to point out what is missing in
Kennedy's performance. I would appreciate receiving the other members'
opinion.
