Happy Herber! To me its more a harbor than a city, so much went on between
what is now two or three states.

harbor See HARBINGER
[ME "herberge, herberwe, herber, harborowe," akin to OHG & OS "heriberga"
army encampment, hostelry, MLG "herberge" hostelry, ON "herbergi"; all fr. a
prehistoric WGmc-NGmc compound whose components are akin respectively to OHG
"heri" army and to OHG "bergan" to shelter, hide]

Quotes added. From "The Merriam-Webster New Book of Word Histories" , 1991
Merriam-Webster, Inc.

Thank you.
