Hi Dan,
Have you tried the IPUMS website at
http://www.ipums.umn.edu/ ? I believe you can search
for specific criteria, and, although it only provides
a sample for the census, there is a link to the NAPP
website where the entire census is available
http://www.nappdata.org/1880/. The folks at IPUMS
have been using the LDS census data, but with an eye
towards expanding it beyond geneological use.
