I have seen similar, usually in connection with kitchen garden fences where
the extra effort pays some results.

I have a suspicion that "Chinese" fencing may in this case ba a derogatory
adjective implying inferiority compared to better quality usually
proprietry, woven wire fencing and other, more substantial fence type - as
in Dutch courage,Dutch treat, Welsh rabbit,Indian giver, etc.
