Gene Halaburt quotes a Goode review:
>"Goode has been praised in almost all quarters as perhaps the finest
>surveyor of Beethoven's sonatas since Schnabel."
I find the above to be an exaggeration, but I agree that plenty of folks
have the highest affection for the Goode set.
Goode brings many fine qualities to Beethoven, but tension and fire are
not high on his list. Given that I feel these characteristics are basic
elements of Beethoven's personality, I can't place Goode among the best
Beethoven performing artists.
