I came across an intriguing item in Heinrich Lindlar's program notes to
an old LP containing an orchestrated version of Tchaikovsky's "The Months"
(Eurodisc/Melodiya 88794). In contrast to the Tchaikovsky, Herr Lindlar
mentions that Anton Bruckner once orchestrated Ludwig van Beethoven's
"Pathetique" Sonata. Has anyone else ever heard this? Was this one of
Bruckner's student exercises or a professional effort? Does the score
still exist? Has it ever been recorded?
