I assume this is the Amadeus on DGG? Also, (this has been bugging me for
a long time) exactly how many cycles did the Hungarian Quartet do? And for
which labels(s)? I know of only the mono cycle on EMI, currently in a 6 or
7 disc budget or mid price box. I believe someone mentioned a cycle on
Seraphim, would that be the same recording or a later attempt? I have some
of the quartets on LP on World Record Club pressings that give absolutely
no indication of recording date and I can't tell from the sound either as
these days, I can't really tell the difference between a bad stereo
recording and a good mono one!
