Anita, very good news that you have new subscribers to HISTARCH. Let's ask
the new members if they know about the:
(1) Society for Historical Archaeology
(2) Council for Northeast Historical Archaeology
(3) Society for Industrial Archaeology
or if they have (from a North American perspective) international interests:
(4) Society for Post-Medieval Archaeology (Europe)
(5) Society for Australasian Historical Archaeology (Oceania)
All these associations have www home pages where they can get basic
information including membership rates.
The Society for Historical Archaeology (SHA) is one of the largest and most
important groups and it will be meeting in
early January 2004 in St Louis, Missouri. There will certainly be over
1,000 attending and new members and first
time attendees (including student members) are most welcome. The following
year (2005) SHA is going to York, England
but it usually meets in North America.
