> George Washington> '> s Fredericksburg Foundation is now accepting applications for our Summer Internship in Field Archaeology program. Interns will help excavate and interpret the site of George Washington's boyhood home. The site is predominantly colonial, but contains prehistoric and Civil War components as well. Excavators will shovel shave plowzone, hand excavate features, screen soils, and record and draw features/layers.

> Internships are designed for recent college graduates, undergraduates, and high school seniors. Preference will be given to applicants with prior archaeological experience in either the field or in the lab.

> The internships pay between $7-9 an hour depending on experience. We work 40 hours a week, which may include weekends. The term of employment will be from May 1st to August 31st. Applicants are not expected to stay for the entire field season, but will be asked to stay for at least four weeks. Neither per diem, housing or meals are included.
