SENIOR PROJECT OFFICER– HERITAGE CONSERVATION MANAGEMENT

Salary range: $69 700 - $ 72 400

Sydney Water is looking for an experienced heritage professional to lead one
of the largest heritage conservation management projects in Australia.

Sydney Water is a State-owned corporation employing nearly 4,000 staff and
responsible for assets valued at over $14 billion. Operating within a
rapidly changing environment, Sydney Water supplies drinking water and
provides wastewater services and stormwater services to nearly four million
customers in Sydney, the Blue Mountains and the Illawarra. Some of Sydney
Water’s assets are listed on the NSW State Heritage Register. To help ensure
the protection of these assets Sydney Water is committed to preparing
Conservation Management Plans (CMPs) for these assets.

The role will lead the production of CMPs for Sydney Water’s state
significant heritage assets. This will involve leading a team of 3 heritage
professionals in preparing and managing the production of CMPs, integrating
the requirements of the CMPs with Sydney Water’s management systems and
planning framework, as well as fostering and maintaining effective
communications with internal and external stakeholders as relevant to the
CMPs.

Applicants must demonstrate:

Appropriate tertiary qualifications or experience deemed equivalent, and
5-10 years experience in one or more areas of heritage assessment and
management.

Demonstrated ability to prepare and supervise the preparation of CMPs,
preferably in relation to infrastructure and industrial heritage.

Demonstrated successful liaison experience and negotiation skills with
internal and external stakeholders.

Demonstrated high level writing and communication skills and proven
experience in report writing.

Experience in project management and ability to lead and work in a
multi-disciplinary team.

The position is initially for a twelve-month term with an option for
extension up to three years.
