in the fine article by David Burley and Michael Will, " ' The Beer
that Made Klondike Famous and Milwaukee Jealous': The O'Brien Brewing
and Malting Company Site, Klondike City, Yukon", in IA, Journal of
the Society for Industrial Archeology, Volume 26, Number 1,
pages37-54, 2000.  They examine and discuss, among other things, a
deposit of bottles in a riverbank dump near the brewery.  This dump
includes both broken and whole bottles, and illustrates a pattern of
reuse that includes bottles manufactured for other breweries,
distilleries, and beverage makers.  This brewer was clearly recycling
stock available in the area, and this practice may not have been
unique.
