Ned had good comments about rags. I worked nights in a rag company baling and
loading the bales on railroad cars.
The cotton and light cloths have been discussed. But remember that
industrialy the roofing industry used / uses a lot of fibre esp wool in the
1960's
Do not know what it was used for but we bundle tricots and polys. Had to
watch out for the compression /expansion ratio esp if you were loading bales
of poly that were highly compressed.
