The Pottery of Trenton Society (P.O.T.S.) has just reprinted From Teacups
to Toilets: A Century of Industrial Pottery in Trenton, Circa 1850 to 1940.
This is a study done for the New Jersey Department of Transportation by
Hunter Research of Trenton. It is a 16-page pamphlet that provides a
summary of the rise of Trenton as a major American pottery center. It
includes historic photographs of some of the potteries and a time line of
benchmarks for the development of the Trenton factories. Funding for this
reprint was provided by a publication grant from the New Jersey Historical
Commission and the Trenton Convention and Visitors Bureau. The publication
grant provided for free distribution of the pamphlet including postage.
This also comes with information on the Pottery of Trenton Society. To
receive your free copy, write to Patricia Madrigal, P.O.T.S., Hunter
Research, 120 W. State Street, Trenton, N.J. 08608.
