I have discovered a way to access NPS Web pages while the agency is offline
in compliance with last month's court order. Search engines retain cached
copies of spidered pages and if you go to ilor <www.ilor.com> and search on
a subject/term and click on the "View Page As Searched(Cache-)" option below
the blurb, you will in most cases get the most recently cached version of
the NPS Web page.
Also, the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation has established a
temporary e-mail address for use until e-mail service via DoI servers is
