I do understand why somebody would be alert to the music of composers other
than canonical greats. As a singer, flautist, choral conductor, teacher
and listener, it is my experience that keeping the ears and eyes open leads
to the pleasure of discovery of unexpected gems off the beaten track.
Besides, Ed indicated very clearly why he was listening to Burleigh, and
they seem good enough reasons to me:
"The piano sketches are evocative and idiomatic."
