Becky,
I gather from Dena's message that you've been on the trail of a good
room for the CNEHA meetings. I hope you manage to get a booking.
It's clear that there's been a lot of action in that area.
It was good to see you. I'm still up in the air about how to deal
with my sabbatical. I got turned down by my last outstanding
possibility--ACLS, so have only the small fellowship from Winterthur.
I probably cannot afford to take more than one semester off,
therefore, but have set up a meeting with my financial advisor to see
if something can be worked out to permit me to have the full year.
It'll be dicey.
We've just had the latest hire resign--we can't seem to keep a remote
sensing person! He's gotten a research post at the Field Museum in
Chicago, lucky dog!
I hear through the grapevine that Steve did get engaged but he
doesn't talk to me anymore unless he wants something from me & then
it's usually an email message. He won't set foot in my office unless
he absolutely has to so I'm his advisor only by default & not in
reality. No skin off my nose.
Cheers,
Mary
