Deryk Barker writes concerning Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsodies:
>You should also hear Cziffra, especially his 1950s recordings.
Most certainly. I intially assumed that Cziffra's single disc on EMI was
just culled from the 2-cd set, but I then discovered the performances are
from different decades.
The VAI disc having 19 pianists doing the Hungarian Rhapsodies arrived in
my mail-box yesterday. I have the Pearl set from Borowsky on backorder
and already have Brendel/Vanguard, Campanella/Philips, Howard/Hyperion,
Szidon/DG, Jando/Naxos, and the two Cziffra entries. Once the Borowsky
arrives, I'll be ready to roll(direction unknown).
