Looking through Arnold's work list, I found that there is still a lot of
his music that remains unrecorded, ie as far as my radar knows. There are
operas, ballets, a whole raft of fantasies for many different instruments
which may even rival Hindemith, and an intriguingly-titled Shakespeare
Cello Concerto. There are also such strange titles as Song of Accounting
Periods, Fantasy for Audience and Orchestra, and a Grand Concerto
Gastronomique for Eater, Waiter, Food and Orchestra. The list I have
does not give the dates of first performances.
There's even a work relevant to another thread: his cantata, The Return
of Odysseus.
