I continuously FORCE myself to listen to alternative, rap, and R&B just
to be able to relate to everyone else. I'm an eighteen year old freshman
at the University of Montevallo and I am already kinda weird, so I have
to establish some common ground with my fellow classmates. I like a lot
of the stuff that I listen to, but I can't quite connect to it. I can
memorize all the lyrics and sing along, but classical music is my love.
I am able to open up to more genres now. I missed out on a lot of great
music from the late 90s. I heard that being open to different genres helps
out if you are a piano major. Is that true?
