Don Satz replies to Bernard Chasan, concerning the Faure string quartet:

I think Faure a great chamber-music composer -- at the level of Brahms --
but I also have problems with the string quartet. It was his last work,
and I strongly suspect that he hadn't written his last thoughts about it
when he died. For me, it's *such* a fall-off from his other chamber music.
