The 2nd Rassegna Internazionale di Composizione "Alfeo Gigli" was promoted
by the Accademia Filarmonica of Bologna/Italia with the collaboration of
Associazione Octandre Musica Attuale and of the Associazione Giovanile
Musicale. (Alfeo Gigli was an Italian composer born in 1907 and died in
1994)
During the year of 2000 (between January 26 to December 13) 17 concerts
were realized (in an average of 2 a month), showing 170 pieces of composers
of 40 countries in the Mozart Room of AFB. Eleven cds was recorded of this
event.
Chambers music of the most varied tendencies of the contemporary music
were executed: 12th tone music, minimalist, neoclassical, experimental,
aleatory etc.
The responsible for the organization were: Gianpaolo Salbego and Luigi
Verdi. Ensemble Octandre is a specialist group in contemporary musica,
directed by Luigi Verdi.
