Someone recently mentioned using those water containers that hang inside of the hive - in the place of a frame...

The problem that I have with those is that they tend to bulge and mess up the next frame of comb, too.  I have "partially solved" the problem.

I use a big "hive staple" across the top of the tank to hold it together.  Cutting a couple of notches in the top of the tank seems to keep 'em in place.  They still bulge in the middle - but not at the top.
