In my years as a shovelbum, I always liked the term.

Smoke.

It is easier to get forgiveness than permission.

How about "Shovel Techie" or "Trowel Traveler" or "Spade Spelunker" or
"Screen Mechanic" or "Dig Artist" or "Soul Sifter" or "Shovel and Broom
Actor" or "Excavatory Engineer"? Personally, I prefer Dig Artist and Screen
Mechanic.
