The melting point for sand differs from brick to brick and clay to clay. I
once examined a brick kiln in Tecate, Mexico that generally fired tiles at
900 to 1100 degrees. Near the fires, bricks melted and flowed to a greenish
black. However, I do not know the temperature they attained.
