Hi all,

One of Tim Scarlett's comments prompted me to write and remind people that
the next World Archaeology Congress is going to be in the US (Washington, D.
C.).  This is a great opportunity for folks in North America to get a sense
of what is going on in the rest of the world without the expense of an
overseas journey.

I was fortunate enough to be able to attend the WAC in Cape Town, which was
_fantastic_.  If the US can meet the standard set by the South Africans in
that regard, maybe we can be forgiven our insularity. :)
