Steve Schwartz ponders Detroit's Scriabin connection:

Steve should know by now that people from Detroit can't even pronounce
or spell Scriabin.  That doesn't mean they can't play it, and I'll be
obtaining Ruth Laredo's Scriabin sonatas set to check it all out.

That was a good one from Steve.  I always appreciate geographical humor
since the time I thought I landed in Albuquerque and found myself in
Phoenix airport.  That's no lie.  I was flying out of L.A.  and the plane
had one stop at Phoenix.  I just got off the plane too fast.  Wish it had
been Las Vegas; I could have spent my waiting time diving for coins.  All
you can do at the Phoenix airport is watch folks take their shoes off at
the security gate, and it's best not to get too close.  But whenever folks
are disrobing, I hang around.
