No one is born a historical archaeologist -- it requires both
formal education and experience. In the same way, no one is born
a writer.
Moreover, having a mother/father/brother/sister that's an English
teacher does not qualify you as a writer -- any more than having
a relative that's a doctor qualifies you as a doctor.
I read this list as the volunteer Listserve Coordinator for The
Archaeology Channel (www.archaeologychannel.org), but as a
technical writer and editor, I couldn't let the readability issue
pass by without adding my 2 cents worth. <grin>
