I maintain 30 to 35 locations. I have never had a written yard agreement. Our
agreement has been by handshake - I give them a case of honey in most cases (one
dairy farmer and his brother want two 30-packs of Genesee Beer in bottles, and
two quarts of honey). I also agree to move the bees immediately if they become a
problem. This plan has worked well for me for almost 30 years. In fact, I would
feel I was being rude if I asked for some kind of legally binding contract. This
is Vermont, an agricultural area, where one's word is his/her bond. I also
believe it hard enough to find good bee locations, and think such a contract
would further limit such locations.

Are there other beekeepers on Bee-L using yard agreements? Agreement or
handshake?
