I'm analysing artefacts from a site used by the 57th Imperial Regiment as a
stables in 1866-67. I've recovered several bottles with labels and would
appreciate any information on the product/ producer/ company/ vineyard/
bottler/ distribution, etc.
1). Large and small black (beer) bottles with partially preserved white
labels. The labels identify the product as "Barclay & Co's Stout, Bottled
by JE Lampard, Wapping, London".
2). Two partial labels on bottles. Label is red, silver-white, & black. It
features a shield with 3 daggers below 3 stars, dagger tips are pointed at
the stars and the words "Old Cognac Rene Vineyard Propietoriate
Boutelleau Manager"
Thank you for your help! (Please respond off discussion group).
