Sociocultural Anthropologist Position: In preparation for a tenure-track
position in Sociocultural Anthropology for 2002-2003, the Department of
Sociology and Anthropology at the University of West Florida is offering a
one-year, non-tenure track appointment the 2001-2002 academic year with the
probability of teaching in the summer of 2002. While a PhD in Sociocultural
Anthropology is preferred, an ABD is acceptable. Teaching experience is
preferred. Specializations of the applicants are open, but education and
experience should complement existing programs in applied anthropology,
sociology, multicultural studies, women studies, gender and diversity, and
social science interdisciplinary. Geographical area of specialization is
open, but preference will be given to areas that complement studies of North
America, Latin America, Caribbean, and Southern Culture. The position will
entail full-time teaching. Courses will include general anthropology, core
and elective courses in anthropology, and courses that bridge
anthropological and sociological concerns. Interested persons should send
