Apologies for the cross posting,
I'm looking for 3 or 4 manuscript reviewers for Adrian Praetzellis's
newest manuscript, Dug to Death. Following his book Death by Theory,
published by us last year, he has developed another
intro-archaeology-textbook-disguised-as-mystery-novel, this one focusing
on arch. methodology. We're hoping the book will be used to introduce
students to the ways archaeologists go about (and think about) field
work for introductory classes or for field methods classes. Since the
setting of the novel is a historic archaeology site in New Zealand and
is done in a contract archaeology context, it might also work to
introduce historical archaeology and CRM in a non-threatening way.
I"m looking for people who teach those classes, preferably someone who
is familiar with Adrian's other book. Manuscript runs about 200 double
spaced pages and is a quick read (got through it in a couple of hours
last night). We would need your feedback on the quality of the
archaeology introduced and its applicability to undergrad students by
September 1. We'll send you a copy of the final book and some other
AltaMIra freebies of your choice upon receipt of the review. Please let
me know off line if you're interested.
Many thanks
mitch allen
