"AMERICAN CUTLERY COMPANY c. 1879 - 1928 This firm was at 177-187 Mather
St., Chicago, Illinois in the 1880s. In 1896, Isaac Hirsch was President of
the firm. By 1923, they were at 728-764 Mather, with Moses Hirsch
President. In 1928, they changed their name to the "American Stainless
Cutlery Company." American made all types of cutlery. The pocket knives
date pre-1900. "1865" was their trademark."

This book is one of the most complete references for cutlery trademarks,
marks, and manufacturers.
