While everyone appreciates these announcements it would only seem
appropriate to state what the salary is; or at least the range. If the
salary is really negotiable then say that. If not state the range or actual
salary. It almost seems that many are ashamed of the recompense for these
positions. My guess is that it really doesn't matter if a potential
applicant has 40 years of experience or two years the salary is going to be
the same, or nearly so. If I am incorrect then correct me.

No, I am not trying to stir up a fight. I am asking that those who
advertise positions be honest, state what you really want, and what you are
willing to pay a person who meets your expectations. Now, perhaps I am
asking far too much? I seem to see many announcement who profess to want
Scotty but are only willing to pay for an archaeological tech. My
experience is that you usually get what you pay for.

And, no I am not looking for a job but many are so don't waste their time
or yours. However, if a really good one in a place I want to go comes up!
As we all know "love of the work" only goes so far in the feeding and care
of oneself and family.

My two cents.
